Happy birthday Sloane!

October 26th was Sloane's 1st happy birthday!! We had a big Baby Einstein themed party since it's Sloane's favorite. We had a caterpillar cake, balloons, party favors and lots and lots of friends. The party turned into a big bash and tons of fun was had by all!

Florida!

We had so much fun in Orlando! Phil had to go for a business trip so we all decided to go and have fun and have some Grandma and Grandpa Dyer time too. We stayed right in the middle of things in Orlando at the Hard Rock hotel which was great for Sloane! Our first trip was to Disney World (of course) and the Magic Kingdom!

I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor...

Today we went to Great Grandpa Longhurst's house and Sloane got her first big tractor ride! As expected, she loved it. She was even wearing her John Deere boots and her sunglasses. Grandpa fired it up in the shop and she didn't even get scared! She climbed up in the cab and rode on grandpa's lap and they did some circles around the farm. She squealed in the cab and grabbed the wheel and all of the controls and was sad when it was time to get out. Reminded me of that great song - Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean - now on the blog for your listening pleasure!

Party time!!

Seems like it's just been one big party lately from birthday parties to football parties! Sloane is making new friends everywhere and having a blast doing it. Birthday cake is one of the 4 food groups, right?!

The county fair!

It's fair time! You can't end summer without a trip to the county fair! While grandma and grandpa Suitter were in town, everyone decided it was time to go. Even though it was over 100 degrees outside, we all had a great time eating, seeing the animals and exhibits and Sloane got her first ride on the merry-go-round!

First stop was the food court for tacos, burgers, fries, corn and milkshakes.

Next was the petting zoo!

Finally the carousel ride!

Gone fishin'

Finally Phil and JJ got a whole weekend to themselves! Grandma and Grandpa Suitter came to Boise to stay with Sloane and off we went to McCall for a weekend of relaxing, fishing, golfing and dining. It was our first real getaway since Sloane was born. This year, for Phil's first father's day, I bought him a guided trip in the mountain lakes and streams of McCall and it was finally time to cash in the gift certificate. Despite the heat and normally slow fishing this time of year, we managed to get in some nice fish and JJ even caught a bird on a dry fly! The guide was very impressed as he had never had that happen before. Ha!
